Neeraj Vora Passes Away: Akshay Kumar, Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani Express Grief...

Well-known actor and filmmaker Neeraj Vora,54, is no more. He passed away this morning.

SpotboyE.com reported a year back about the filmmaker’s deteriorating health. He suffered a massive brain stroke and slipped into coma. Neeraj was admitted in a hospital in Delhi but for the past few months, filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala was looking after him and had also kept him at his house.

Last night, Neeraj’s condition got worse and he was rushed to Criti Care Hospital, Juhu, where he breathed his last.

Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani and a few more, who have worked with Neeraj in films like Hera Pheri and Masst expressed their sorrow and tweeted about the loss.

Confirming the news of his demise, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit said, “Neeraj Vora died today at 3 am in Criti Care hospital in Juhu. He had been in coma and living at Firoz Nadiadwala’s place. When his condition deteriorated in the night, he was taken to the hospital, where he breathed his last.”

Neeraj has acted in several films such as Rangeela (1995), Mann (1999) and Bol Bachchan (2012) among others and helmed Khiladi 420 (2000) and Phir Hera Pheri (2006).

He was admitted to a leading Delhi hospital in October last year and was battling for life since then.

Originally from Gujarat, Neeraj made his foray in Bollywood as a writer for Aamir Khan’s film Rangeela.

A few films later, he debuted as a director with Khiladi 420, which failed to work its magic at the box-office.

He resumed writing films and worked with Firoz Nadiadwala on Awara Paagal Deewana (2002) and Deewane Huye Paagal (2005).

The two then collaborated on Phir Hera Pheri (2006, Neeraj directed it), the sequel to the Hera Pheri (2000), which starred Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty in lead roles.

The funeral will take place at  Santacruz Electric Crematorium at 3 pm.
